In past months, the OWLS have had some outstanding entertainment, but as Al Jolson would say folks you
ain’t heard nothing yet. For the month of September we have a full time Music Evangelists from Blue
Springs, Mo. Bud and Barbara Lee travel full time in their mission project. Bud Lee, a baritone soloist, is an
ordained minister. He was formerly music director for the Fellowship of Missouri Baptist and the
Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists. He earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in voice from Arkansas
A.M.& N.College which is now the University of Arkansas.
Barbara Lee, pianist, is a former music instructor at Arkansa A.M. & N., Western Baptist Bible College
in K.C, Mo., and the University of Mo. at Kansas City Conservatory of Music. She has a Bachelor of
Music in Piano from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the Master of Music in piano from
Indiana University in Bloomington. They have recorded four albums. The Lee family’s soul-stirring musical
expression has challenged many congregations to a vibrant worship experience. They are members of
Calvary Baptist Church of Blue Springs, Mo.
From the many reports that we have received, you certainly don’t want to miss this inspiring couple.
Anyone with interest in music of the highest level will certainly want to do everything within their power to
attend this presentation.
You don’t have to be in the above 60 group to attend this presentation. The Owls extends an open
invitation to all, members of Peace, your neighbors and friends. No one is too young or too old to attend our
gatherings. We ask only one thing, that you enjoy yourself and the time that you spend with us. Plan to
bring a covered dish and stay for lunch. . We promise that we will do everything to help you have fun.
Our gatherings are held in our Fellowship Hall here at Peace Lutheran Church starting at 10:30 a.m.
